Johnny's On The Lake Bar & Grill: A Lakeside Dining Experience in Belleville, MI

Great location with lakeside seating and a dock to pull your boat up to. The food was tasty. The spinach artichoke dip was delicious. The service was semi-lackluster, but I can understand it with all the running around the servers do. I'd recommend checking out Johnny's if you’re ever in the Belleville area!

I've updated my review to four stars. The food and service are greatly improved. We loved the Steak Tips, Michigan Salad and Turkey Reuben. The cleanliness has improved as well. A gorgeous location with three levels of seating. All give wonderful views of beautiful Belleville Lake. I'll be back hoping to find continued improvement.

FOOD POISONING! Don’t do it. Enough said. It’s a shame, because the restaurant location is lovely, as it overlooks the lake. Our waitress was so sweet, too, but kitchen— you need some ServSafe refreshers. As a ServSafe manager myself, I know they talk extensively about raw meat handling. I don’t recommend the food unfortunately.

We had a great time and our server took great care of my big family. My fish and chips were good. I live out of state now, but when I come home to Belleville, I'm heading to Johnny's for a beer.

The menu features tasty pub favorites like a delicious spinach-artichoke dip and a veggie Philly that’s a hit with visitors. We had just eaten at the Rusted Crow, not too far from here, so we did not grab a bite to eat, but we did grab a couple of cocktails. We tried their Cranberry and Vodka and the Espresso martini, which they gave us in plastic cups so we could go outside by the water. The experience overall was nice for a quick stop, we will for sure have to come back for the full experience, and grab a bite to eat!

I had the Cajun pasta and it did not disappoint. This was my first time going to the restaurant. Great location on the water. Great service. I asked our server what her favorite thing on the menu was and she was right it was great. It was my brother’s first time as well and he loved his food as well. Would highly recommend.

I’m not even being dramatic when I say this was the best meal I’ve had in my entire life. I went in thinking it’d just be a cute lake spot… no. This place changed me. The flavors? Insane. Like they cooked with their ancestors whispering recipes from heaven. The food didn’t just taste good — it healed me. I’ve been craving it every day since like I’m in withdrawal. The breeze, the view, the vibe — it was giving main character moment. I was literally sitting there like, “How is this real life??” If you’re anywhere near this restaurant and you don’t eat here? That’s a personal failure. No other place will compare after this. I’m genuinely offended I don’t live closer.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was great. The outdoor seating during sunset was stunning—such a beautiful experience! I ordered the steak tips, which were listed as a starter but could easily be an entrée. My husband enjoyed the Cobb salad, and my mom loved Johnny’s Burger. I highly recommend this place, especially during sunset!
